General Information
The Warner Historical Society (the Main Street House) is located near the center of Town, at 15 West Main Street, Warner, NH and is open year round on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. and quite often I am here on Wed - Thurs from 10 - 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and by special appointment. I am often out to meetings so call ahead to make sure I am here (456-2437). Severe winter weather may require the unexpected closing of the Historical Society.
The Barn sale runs from early May until Columbus Day weekend. The hours for the Barn Sale are Tuesdays from 1:00 - 4:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.
The Society can be contacted by telephone at 603-456-2437 (has answering machine) or by e-mail at [email protected].
The Society staff will provide assistance in your historical and genealogical research, provide access to our collections, answer as many questions as our memories recall and present a summer exhibit. In the near future we will offer multiple exhibits at the Upton/Chandler House across the street from the Society.
The Society owns and maintains three buildings: the Main Street House, the Lower Warner Meeting House and the Upton Chandler House Museum.
Volunteers
The Historical Society depends entirely upon the volunteer efforts of the members of Warner's community. Individuals have the opportunity to work on indexing, cataloging and preserving the collection. Suggesting, organizing, and presenting programs. Creating and installing exhibits. Contributing to the writing and production of the Society newsletter and special publications. Joining in the fun and work in the operation of the Barn Sale and Book Loft. Serving on the Executive Board. Helping to maintain the houses and grounds. Mixing with and enjoying the company of fellow Warnerites on various committees to preserve Warner's history for future generations. Become a volunteer - it's fun and rewarding! Call or email us now!
